dog obedience programs in olathe, ks
We specialize in reactivity, aggression, and anxiety in dogs. Obedience is the foundation that we establish to address all issues. Once we have defined the expectations through obedience training, we then must hold the dog accountable to our expectations. You can't reward a dog out of a bad behavior, just like you can't reward a child out of throwing a tantrum. Just like the child, we have to not only reward for appropriate behaviors, we must correct for inappropriate behaviors. Would you be surprised to know that dog training is really only 30% training the dog, it is 70% the owner? Our programs are designed to teach the owner how to be the leader that the dog needs to thrive. Are you ready to be the leader your dog is looking for?

Day Training program - 3 week - $2250
Day Training 3 week is our best program for dealing with behavior issues such as reactivity, aggression, and anxiety, or you don't have the time to put into the dog. Think of it as a 15 day doggie day care, except we are training.
More program Information
Training isn’t about sit, down, and stay. It is about getting our dogs to be compliant and look to us for direction. Impulsiveness is what gets dogs into trouble. It isn’t as much about teaching the dogs, as it is about teaching the human how to work with the dog. The responsibility to establish a healthy relationship with our dogs relies on us, the humans.
Some of these dogs are reactive or aggressive. We offer our Day Training program in Olathe Kansas. We work on obedience, reactivity, aggression, and anxiety through behavior modification.
This is our premium training program, It includes everything that is part of the 2 week program, but the 3rd week we work on dog interactions and off leash recall under distractions.
*There is an equipment requirement for this program, the dog will need: a flat leash, a Herm Sprenger prong collar, and an E-collar Technologies e-collar.
Approximate cost of the equipment is $300 to get the dog setup.

Day Training program - 2 week -$1500
Day Training 2 week is our most popular program for dealing with behavior issues such as reactivity, aggression, and anxiety, or you don't have the time to put into the dog. Think of it as a 10 day doggie day care, except we are training.
More program Information
This is our premier training program, and our most popular. It is geared towards dogs 18 weeks and older. This is the best program for dogs with reactivity, aggression, anxiety, fear, over stimulation, and people that just don’t have the time to put in all the training repetitions themselves. The dog comes to our facility for 10 days, going home each day. Drop-Off is at 8 AM and Pick-up is at 3 PM, unless other arrangements are made. This program gives us the perfect opportunity to work on these things because we are located in such a busy area and constantly have other dogs around. We try to identify as many things as we can that are a trigger for the dog and set up scenarios around those triggers. For example, maybe your dog is afraid of men or even random objects such as a laundry basket or cars on the road. Besides correcting bad behaviors like jumping, excessive barking, reactivity, and aggression, we teach the dogs how to walk nicely beside us, sit, down, stay, place, leave it, and to remain neutral in chaotic environments. For the owner, we show you how to properly use a prong collar, e-collar and other concepts that will help you better communicate with your dog. We can also work on more specific problems you are experiencing, for example bolting out the door, food aggression, or resource guarding.
As the training progresses, the dogs are taken to stores and other public places where they are going to encounter strange people, strange dogs and new sights, sounds and smells. More importantly than what we teach the dog, we need to teach you how to replicate the same results at home. Every day we will run you through everything the dog did that day and what your homework should be for that night, as well as answer any questions you may have. Every night an email gets sent out with what we worked on, and in many cases, it includes a video demonstrating what that should look like.
After a few days of training, we will schedule a one-on-one session with you and your dog. This allows us to show you everything we are working on and to have you practice with your dog under the guidance of our trainers, so everyone is on the same page. These different commands and concepts will become the foundation of what we are going to hold the dog accountable for. Once the dog understands the rules/boundaries, we as the human must enforce the rules/boundaries, provide consequences for violation of the rules/boundaries, and be consistent in the enforcement of the rules/boundaries.
*There is an equipment requirement for this program, the dog will need: a flat leash, a Herm Sprenger prong collar, and an E-collar Technologies e-collar.

Day Training basic - 1 week - $750
1 week basic Day Training program. This is a program that offers more than General Obedience, but not as thorough as the 2 week Day Training program.
More program Information
This is our "middle of the road" option. In this program the dog comes to our facility for 5 days, going home each day. Drop-Off is at 8 AM and Pick-up is at 3 PM, unless other arrangements are made.
We can get in a lot more repitions than we can in a 1 hour General Obedience session and expose the dog to other dogs and trainers. We will not be introducing the e-collar and we are not able to address any severe behavior issues (we have other programs for that), however you will see that with a lot of structure, some of the issues will disappear.
We will cover things like, leash manners, holding commands until released (Sit, Down, Place), leave it, out, recall, not rushing out of a crate, not jumping on people and waiting for permission to cross a threshold.
More importantly than what we teach the dog, we need to teach the owners how to replicate the same results at home. Every day we will run you through everything the dog did that day and what your homework should be for that night, as well as answer any questions you may have. Does that sound just like raising kids? It is the same concept.
*There is an equipment requirement for this program, the dog will need: a flat leash and a 2.25 Herm Sprenger prong collar (order extra links if your dog is over 45 pounds) that can be purchased on Amazon.
Approximate cost of the equipment is $35 to get the dog setup.
Cost $750 for the program + equipment cost is approximately $35

Obedience refresh 1 week $750
If your dog has been through one of our training programs, but it is time to brush up on obedience, this is the program designed for those humans/dogs.
More program Information
Our obedience refresh program is for dogs that have already been through our obedience program. Which means they already know commands and boundaries that have been defined. This program allows us to re-enforce the 3 components of obedience training which include boundaries, consequences, and consistency.
This is a 1 week program where drop off is at 8 AM and pickup is between 3 - 4 PM.
Each day the dog gets approximately 1.5 hours of one-on-one time, and then the remainder of the session they are working on impulse control through group activities like holding a down when other dogs are training or are playing fetch. Our facility offers us a unique ability to expose the dog to other dogs, and we have significant foot traffic right outside our facility throughout the day. This allows us to get exposure to the dog to being around a significant amount of people.
The cost is $750 for the 1 week program. This provides approximately 35 hours of training time. Payment of half down and completion of the agreement and questionnaire is required to be put on the schedule.
